An extremely handsome tree to plant in memory of a loved one, our Sweetgum is taller than wide and grows up to 75 ft. Its foliage brilliant yellow, scarlet or purple in the fall. Leaves are starlike, resembling a maple, with 3-7 toothed lobes. Small flowers in dense globe-shaped clusters and prickly globe-shaped capsule fruit. Good straee trees, effective in tall screens or groves. Native to Eastern U.S.
Growth habit: 6" to 10" per year. Zone 5-9. Low Temp. Tolerance: -20 degrees F.
